Old Manila. This is actually a part of an hour and a half documentary video which was created by the US Army. It was used to orient new Americans who were coming to the Philippines.
In this part, it shows the Old Manila and how the Philippines then was a pride of the Americans. Manila was a modern city then. The streets, buildings, transportation and the people and their way of life clearly suggests that we were agriculturally & industrially advanced. If London then was the pride of Europe, Manila was the pride of Asia. We truly deserved our name as the Pearl of the Orient.
However, shift happens.
But this shouldn’t discourage us.
Hopefully, this short clip will inspire you. Inform you of a wealthy heritage. Motivate you to have high hopes for a genuine transformation & development – to be a responsible citizen who will always aim to make a difference within your sphere and become change agents. The time that we have now is telling us that it’s not too late.
